Last updated: October 2026
These Legal Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of this website and to services provided through Macinnes Medical Ltd, trading as Dr Rita (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use this website.
1. About Us
Macinnes Medical Ltd is the company responsible for the services provided through the Dr Rita brand.
Trading name: Dr Rita
Legal entity: Macinnes Medical Ltd
Macinnes Medical Ltd provides private medical and aesthetic services through appropriately qualified healthcare professionals.
Where relevant, clinical services are provided by Dr Rita MacInnes or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional working on behalf of Macinnes Medical Ltd.
2. Medical Services
Information provided on this website is intended for general information only and does not constitute a medical diagnosis, individual medical advice or a substitute for a consultation with a suitably qualified healthcare professional.
Medical conditions and treatment requirements vary between individuals. An appropriate clinical consultation, assessment and, where necessary, examination or investigation may be required before a diagnosis or treatment can be recommended.
Macinnes Medical Ltd reserves the right to decline or defer a consultation, prescription or treatment where, in the clinician's professional judgement, it is not clinically appropriate or would not be in the patient's best interests.
3. Emergency Medical Care
The services provided by Macinnes Medical Ltd are not intended to replace emergency or continuous urgent medical care.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency or potentially life-threatening symptoms, you should contact 999, attend the nearest Emergency Department or use the appropriate NHS urgent-care service.
Macinnes Medical Ltd does not provide 24-hour emergency medical care or continuous patient monitoring unless explicitly stated otherwise.
4. Aesthetic Treatments
Aesthetic treatments, including anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers and other injectable or cosmetic procedures, may constitute medical procedures and carry potential risks and complications.
Treatment suitability will be assessed on an individual basis.
A consultation may be required before treatment. Macinnes Medical Ltd reserves the right to decline treatment where it is not considered clinically appropriate.
No guarantee can be given regarding the outcome of an aesthetic treatment. Results vary between individuals and may depend on factors including anatomy, skin characteristics, age, lifestyle, previous treatments and individual response.
Before treatment, you will be provided with appropriate information regarding the proposed procedure, expected outcomes, potential risks, alternatives and aftercare.
You are responsible for providing complete and accurate information regarding your medical history, medication, allergies, previous procedures and any other information that may be relevant to your treatment.
5. Treatment Results
Macinnes Medical Ltd aims to provide a high standard of clinical care but cannot guarantee a particular medical or aesthetic outcome.
For aesthetic procedures, individual results vary and additional or maintenance treatment may sometimes be required.
Any images, descriptions or examples of treatment results displayed on this website are illustrative only and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of the results another individual will achieve.
6. Appointments and Bookings
Appointments may be booked through the Dr Rita website or through third-party booking platforms used by Macinnes Medical Ltd.
You are responsible for ensuring that the information supplied when making a booking is accurate.
Please arrive on time for your appointment. Late arrival may reduce the time available for your consultation or treatment. Depending on the circumstances, an appointment may need to be rearranged.
Macinnes Medical Ltd reserves the right to amend, postpone or cancel an appointment where reasonably necessary, including for clinical, operational or safety reasons.
Where Macinnes Medical Ltd needs to cancel or rearrange an appointment, reasonable efforts will be made to provide appropriate notice and, where possible, offer an alternative appointment.
7. Deposits and Payments
Where a deposit is required to secure an appointment, the deposit must be paid at the time of booking.
Unless otherwise stated, the deposit will be deducted from the final price of the treatment or service provided at the appointment.
Prices displayed on the website are subject to change. The applicable price will normally be confirmed at the time of booking or before treatment.
Where additional treatment is requested or clinically recommended, additional charges may apply. Any such charges will be discussed with you before treatment where reasonably practicable.
Payments must be made using the payment methods made available by Macinnes Medical Ltd.
8. Cancellation and Non-Attendance
We understand that circumstances can change. If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.
Our cancellation and deposit policy applies to appointments booked with Macinnes Medical Ltd.
Where the required notice is not provided, or where an appointment is missed without appropriate notice, the deposit may be retained and, where applicable, a cancellation or non-attendance charge may apply.
The specific cancellation terms applicable to your booking will be provided during the booking process.
9. Clinical Assessment and Consent
Before receiving certain medical or aesthetic treatments, you may be required to provide relevant medical information and complete appropriate consultation and consent documentation.
You are responsible for providing information that is accurate, complete and up to date.
You should inform your clinician of any relevant changes to your health, medication, allergies, pregnancy status, previous treatments or other circumstances that may affect your suitability for treatment.
Consent may be withdrawn at any time before a procedure is carried out.
10. Aftercare and Follow-Up
You are responsible for following the aftercare instructions provided following treatment.
If you experience unexpected, severe or concerning symptoms following treatment, you should contact Macinnes Medical Ltd where appropriate and seek urgent medical attention where necessary.
Our normal contact arrangements and opening hours apply to non-emergency enquiries.
11. Prescriptions and Medication
Where medication is prescribed, prescribing decisions are made following an appropriate clinical assessment and in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory and professional requirements.
A request for a particular medication does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued.
The decision to prescribe, change or discontinue medication remains a clinical decision made by an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
